Home / Why We Chose Verisol® – Understanding the Science Behind NEE-V

When I created NEE-V, the first decision wasn’t flavour or packaging.

It was the peptide.

Collagen powders are often treated as interchangeable, yet the source and structure of the peptide determine almost everything: absorption, consistency and how the body recognises it. After months of research I chose Verisol®, a bioactive collagen peptide developed by Gelita.

This page explains why.

Not all collagen is the same

“Hydrolysed collagen” simply means collagen has been broken into smaller pieces. It does not tell you:

  • which collagen types are present

  • the size of the peptides

  • how they were produced

  • whether they have been studied in humans

Two tubs can both say hydrolysed collagen and behave very differently.

Verisol is not a generic term. It is a specific, characterised peptide produced using defined enzymatic processes to create consistent molecular structures designed for skin-related pathways.

What makes Verisol different

1. It is an identified ingredient, not a blend

Many products use “collagen peptides” with no further detail. Verisol is a trademarked peptide with a known production method and composition, which means:

  • batch-to-batch consistency

  • traceable supply chain

  • the ability to connect the ingredient to published research

2. Human research exists on this exact peptide

Multiple clinical studies have explored Verisol in relation to skin parameters such as elasticity and wrinkle appearance. This matters because results from one peptide cannot automatically be transferred to another.

3. Designed for bioavailability

Gelita developed Verisol with specific peptide sequences that are absorbed and recognised by skin cells as signalling molecules. The aim is not to “add collagen to the skin” but to support the body’s own processes.

4. Global quality standards

Gelita operates under international food and quality certifications. For a small brand like ours, partnering with an established ingredient supplier reduces variability and risk.

Why this mattered to NEE-V

We wanted a product that could be:

  • Transparent – we can name the exact peptide

  • Consistent – not dependent on commodity sourcing

  • Minimalist – able to stand without heavy flavour systems

  • Evidence-aligned – linked to real human research rather than general collagen theory

Choosing Verisol allowed us to design:

  • Glow Naked – pure Verisol with nothing added

  • Veri Berry – Verisol with a gentle natural flavour and no sugar alcohols

  • Hydra Plenish Marine – for those who prefer marine sources while keeping the same philosophy

What Verisol is – and what it is not

It is:

  • a defined bioactive peptide from Gelita

  • produced under controlled enzymatic processes

  • used in published human studies

  • a food ingredient, not a medicine

It is not:

  • a generic collagen blend

  • a guarantee of a medical outcome

  • interchangeable with every other collagen powder

Our philosophy

NEE-V is built on the belief that ingestible wellness should be:

  • clear about ingredients

  • honest about evidence

  • free from unnecessary extras

  • easy to tolerate long term

Verisol fit that philosophy better than any other option we reviewed.
